Overnight I have the Adagio executables missing except in DataCare. Lucky we have the backup to restore from. Virus scan didn't detected anything funny. Any thoughts?

Fong:

The last time I saw this was on a Novell server (at least a decade ago). I forget why or what the fix was.

This is a hardware related issue. If your concerned about making sure it doesn't happen again then you should get them to find the cause.

How do you know the EXE's disappeared? Perhaps the shortcuts were just replace pointing to the wrong place? Many 9.2 modules were installed in different Folders.

We couldn't opened most of the modules that morning. We didn't do any upgrade prior. Overnight, just like that.

Maybe the shortcuts were wrong. Windows has been known to mess with desktop shortcuts (although deleting them is more common). What was the message when you clicked on the shortcut?

Hi Andrew,
No. Not the shortcuts. We had the error message when we already in and tried to Open Adagio XXX Data. I don't remember the exact words of the message now. I looked in the Softrak folder and found the .exe and the .dll missing in each module. So strange. Anyway all this taught us a good lesson to make sure we backup our server every night. smile
Thanks.
