Hello,

Last week we updated all of our modules, I've shown the updates in my mail box in the attached file 'screen shot 2'. All modules were installed in the order in which we received the updates. Since then, we receive the error shown in 'screen shot 1' whenever trying to print the aged orders report in order entry. The other reports in OE don't respond at all. The other modules seem to be fine, I suspect this is because they no longer use the same reporting software. Clients are running windows 7 pro and windows 8.1 pro. Server is running Microsoft server 2003. I've tried re-installing the order entry update as well as crystal reports from the x:\softrak\system\cr_installcommon directory. Reverting order entry to it's previous version did not solve the issue either. Data integrity check comes back with no errors. I did not notice any errors during any of the installs. Hopefully someone can help resolve this before we have to run our mid-month reports.

Hello Chris,

Here are things to try in an attempt to isolate the problem:
  • Does logging in as a different user change the behavior?
  • Does logging in as Administrator change the behavior?
  • Does changing the printer make a difference?
  • Does changing the Windows default printer make a difference?
  • Can you print from another workstation as the same user?
  • Can you print from another workstation as the same user?
  • Can you print the report from the Sample data (in \Softrak\OEWin\Samdata)
  • Can you print an order confirmation or other form?
  • Can you print the File | User Preferences listing?
  • Have you recently changed workstations?

Hi, Chris,

OE is still a v8 module and its reports don't use the Crystal installed by the CRRuntime... in the Softrak\System\CR_installcommon folder.

Knowing the answers to Andrew's questions could be very useful in helping us troubleshoot your problem. If there was a problem with the earlier Crystal print engine, reinstalling OE should resolve that so I think there is something else occurring there.

Another valuable resource in situations such as these is your Adagio consultant.

Can you print the report from the Sample data (in \Softrak\OEWin\Samdata) No, same error
Can you print an order confirmation or other form? Yes, orders, confirmations all print fine. Only issue is in reports.
Can you print the File | User Preferences listing? Yes
Have you recently changed workstations? No

Found a solution-

Removed the OEWIN folder from the root directory (recommend saving a copy first) then reinstalled order entry. Ran order entry and everything was working again, registration info was missing though. I'm back to 100%.

Hi, Chris,

Was just in the process of responding to you earlier. The Print Engine Not Found error is a good indication that the server:\softrak\System\Win32\crpe32.dll is missing.

Basically, you pretty much did what we call a clean (although not quite smile reinstall and that's what resolved the problem for you.

Glad you're up and running again.

P.S. Pretty sure your Adagio consultant is a 'he' and he's a good consultant too.

I'm not sure if she is my "consultant" then, she is the woman we purchase our upgrade's through and who my boss calls anytime he can't figure out how to do something in the software.

Hi Chris,

If your OEWIN directory was in the Root, then there is (was) something wrong with your install. The xxWIN Folders should be under the \Softrak Folder. The only Adagio Folder that you should have in the Root is the \QRASP Folder.

(xxWin Folders have been moving to Folders with the module name with the recent releases. Receivables replaces ARWIN and BankRec replaces BRWIN. When OrderEntry 9.2A ships, it will be in placed in an OrderEntry Folder, rather than OEWIN.)
