A client wants to track revenue by phase. There is a setting in Receivables to allow this.

But they also want to enter the customer contract price by phase so they can generate a report that shows what percentage of each phase they have billed.

The only way I can think of doing this is to leave the original price at zero when setting up the job, and then entering each phase amount as a change order. Not only does this seem non-intuitive, but I don't like that the original price will be zero.

Is there a better way to do this?

Hi Steve,

Assuming that they have Gridview, we would have a view that would show just the transactions being filtered by billings, with subtotals within a job.

Depending on the relationship between estimates and costs, you might get a % on the markup, but right now we don't see a split option to show the amount of billings total as per the contract split.

Turns out that there is a better way. Under Jobs | Assign Managers/Dates/Prices, you can enter the contract price by phase and it will update both the original and current contract price.

I would like to suggest a more intuitive place for this to happen.
