Hello,
This is a income statement with revenue range of 4000:4999-`, (expense accounts same way) with that new handy dandy currency column. The currency symbol does not show up in some of the departmental reports. The repors has B, BY, Y, YTD Variance and Remaining Budget columns. Report was originally created in 9.1 financial reporter

We did some testing and here are the results:
When report is expanded for a specific department and there is only 1 revenue account in the department the $ does not show. If there is more than 1 revenue accounts in the department then the $ shows on the first account of the list as expected.
With zero suppress:
When consolidated report is expanded the $ symbol will show on the first account of the list and then it will show after every zero suppressed line in the list. This results in 3 or 4 $ in the revenue section of the consolidated report.

When we do an Excel Direct transfer the $ symbols appear before each account in the section.

Hello Siru,

Could you ZIP and email me the ledger and financial statement? If it's too large, you can upload it to http://www.softrak.com/dbr to my attention.

I'll take a look.

This dollar sign issue still exists in GL 9.2B. Although small, it's a point of frustration for my client.

Hi Dan,

As far as I can tell from the Release Notes, no fix was attempted or promised for the Ledger 9.2B release.

It is a standard format to have a dollar sign on the first item and the last item of the statement. It works in compressed mode but not in expanded mode. Although I understand it may be difficult from a programming standpoint, it seems quite simple and therefore frustrating for the client.

Is there an expectation that this will ever get fixed?

Have you made any headway with this Dan (or others?). I am also struggling with missing some dollar signs when going to expanded mode, it changes the formatting of the cell and they disappear on compressed mode as well. Current work around is taking the statements to excel and manually adding the appropriate dollar signs for printing which is a bunch of unnecessary work.

Have you checked in Ledger 9.3A? Our documentation says this was fixed in November 2016 and the February 9.2B Service Pack Release Note contains the entry:
Quote:
  • The “Accounting $$” format now works correctly when the first row(s) of an expanded range are hidden.

If it is still not working in the circumstance that you are looking at, please ZIP the Ledger and financial statement and send it to me.

Thanks.

Thanks for the ultra quick response Andrew. I am working in Ledger 9.3A, but before I send in a ZIP I'm going to try creating a new report from scratch and see if the error persists. I will let you know my findings.
