Hi Shaunna,
Can you give an example of an Adagio program and version where you are running into a problem? Such as Adagio Ledger 9.2A or Adagio Payables 8.1F? It's important, as older versions of Adagio programs use an older structure of security group files.
The message you are receiving is exactly as Lauren described - the security group assigned to the user does not exist in the company in which you are trying to open, for the application you are using. This happens if at least one security group has been created for the company.
If no security groups are defined in the company data, then any security group assigned to a user will be ignored and login will be allowed with a few limitations.
Security group codes are case sensitive. The text you posted indicates that the group 'admin' doesn't exist. If you have a security group 'ADMIN', that is not the same. You need to create one with exactly the same case. Also, security group files are stored with the data, so if you have had to restore your company data for some reason, it may not have the most up to date security files.
If this just started happening, then you need to consider what has changed recently, such as installing Adagio upgrades, Windows security updates, changes to a workstation or server, or anything else. If nothing changes for the user and company data, then that suggests to me that something flaky is going on with your access to the data and not being able to read the security group files, perhaps because the files are locked or ...
