I see on the website under Solutions that there is an Adagio in the Cloud. We are looking to replace our aging network Server and the "cloud hosting" option keeps being brought up. What exactly does Adagio in the Cloud offer? What little is said implies that it is specifically for the financial package, whereas our OE, PO, IC, etc are essential to our operation. Any info would be helpful, thanks.

Adagio in the Cloud is a new/current offering from Softrak. The solution has a bundled price for subscription to Adagio licencing and services provided by the hosting facility. Cloud solutions are being offered for most software solutions these days.

Nothing has been mentioned about how integrated 3rd party solutions would work with this licencing. As a 3rd party software provider, we have not been included in any discussions about this licencing solution for our products.

We have recently assisted some of our clients to move to a Private Cloud solution, independent of this Adagio in the Cloud, where our clients will ONLY subscribe to the hosting facility to provide hosting services, AND we installed their licenced Adagio software to run on the Cloud, and their other 3rd Party licenced software.

All are working well and in short discussion, the only real limitation is ensuring that you have a strong internet connection and sufficient RAM assigned to the private cloud hosting solution. All of our client hosted sites are using Server 2012 R2 with a remote desktop services connection. Integration to the cloud is not always provided by the host so you will probably need assistance to move to the cloud solution.

We are recommending all of our clients consider upgrading to a "Private Cloud" solution when they consider their next server upgrade so your timing and interest make good sense.

There are a lot more issues to consider in a full discussion with your Adagio consultant. I have attempted to give you a brief introduction and a confirmation that the private cloud solution works very well for an Adagio accounting software solution.

Is this a solution to consider? Yes. Does it work well? It can work very well. Our largest site has over 100 users connecting to Adagio from 4 locations, with the full Adagio distribution suite of modules including many of our Link2Systems 3rd party solutions for shipping, POS, web store downloads, and WellSprings' PrintBoss. It has been operating well for almost a year and our client is very happy with this solution.
