Good day,

In my FX, I want to capture info for Dept's 10 and 82 (there are other dept's between these that I do not want the info on). I've tried to enter '10,82 and '10;82.
Can someone please advise on the correct way to do this?

Thanks,
Mike

Hi Michael,

What version of Adagio FX are you running?

The most current version 9.1A allows you to specify specific departments for retrieval, excluding any accounts that do not have selected department codes. The new release video has a demonstration of this, starting around the 1:48 mark.

If you are running an older version of FX, you have to specifically code the desired departments into an automated retrieval process. These steps are outlined in the Help file, by opening the topic related to Retrieving data and then clicking the link to Auto-Retrieve. If your version of FX is too old, this help topic may not exist for you.

My apologies ... I'm running Adagio Financial Reporter LEDGERFINREP.EXE version: 2.1.1.1979
Adagio Ledger - I have version 9.1A
Is there a way to do separate departments here?

No problem, Michael.

In the version of the Ledger / Financial Reporter you have, it is possible to create the desired account-department combinations using the RNGMERGE function. The Help file has good detail on how to use this. The easiest way to see this in action is to create a new statement using the drag-and-drop method from View / Account Groups and select the Departmental Comparative option and your two departments.

In the next upgrades to Adagio Ledger and FX, this will be much easier to accomplish. The concept of 'Department Lists' are introduced, where a set of non-consecutive departments can be selected to include in a group that may be selected from the department drop-down, just like for ranges or masks.

Ok, thanks ... I'll research it!
My other option is to change the department from -82 to -11, so that I can then use a range ... but I'll try it the RNGMERGE way first :-)

Just so I don't appear to be too RTFM-y, here's an example of RNGMERGE usage for a SmartSheet that can be expanded or collapsed, using the Departmental Comparative process as mentioned above:

=GLAMT(H$8,RNGMERGE($B11,STRCAT("-",H$6)))

Where cell H8 contains the field code to return, such as "M" for current period net changes or "Y" for YTD net changes
Cell B11 contains the Account number (no departments or dashes)
Cell H6 contains the selection of departments, such as 10,82 without any dashes.

This is awesome ... it works great ... thank you very much ... as much as I looked through Help, I didn't find this.
I'm very appreciative :-)
