I recently created a new view, to extract data from our purchase order module. After a month or so of use, I realize that I'd like to make some enhancements. However I no longer able to edit filters, add calculated columns, etc. by using the pull down menu. Can someone explain how to edit the view after it has been created? If I view the filter toolbox, and then right click the filters listed, I can bring up the edit filter dialog box. However I still can't edit calculated columns, and the edit filter option is still unavailable from the pull down menu. Is there another procedure to be able to edit a view after it has been created and run?

Thanks

You must launch GridView from a shortcut to be able to edit the View.

I thought that was the problem, because I've run into this before. When I close down all other programs, and launch from the shortcut I get the same problem.

This is the listed target from the shortcut:

K:\Softrak\GVWIN\GVWin.exe

Am I missing something?

Thanks

If you don't have "/c" in your target line then you won't be able to edit your view. Your target line should read like this: "K:\Softrak\GVWIN\GVWin.exe /c"

Hi,

Thank you. The "/c" fixed my issue. Can anyone chime in on what the "/c" is for, and where one might be able to find a list of useful switches?

Regards

Start up GridView.
While in GV, press F1 to call up the Help screen.
Click on the "Search" tab on the upper-left side of the screen, and enter: command line.
Press <ENTER>.
Double-click on the first item below: Command Line Parameters - it should list all the various switches.

"/c" = "Change".
