I am currently importing/exporting customer orders/invoices. I receive from the customer a Detail Line item# which is not the same as Adagio which needs to be exported back to the customer. There is no known logic for the numbers used by the customer, sometimes the first line can be 501 or 16 or simply 1. I would need to import this line item# in the detail screen of OE but do not have a field available for that. Recommendations?

The line item description in an order/invoice are 75 characters wide, although the descriptions coming from Inventory are much smaller. This is to allow a minor modification to an inventory item description (such as the addition of a colour) to be added at the time the order is entered.

Perhaps some of these extra characters are available and you could place the customer line numbers there?

I am not importing the item description but actually pulling it from an alternate price list. That description contains the customer item# which is also mandatory for the exchange.

Sorry, but without being familiar with the actual import/export process you are following, it is going to be difficult to provide a direct answer through the forum. Your Adagio consultant is probably in the best position to help you optimize this process.

This is really a request for detail-level optional fields. I've forwarded Vickie my ideas on how to make this work for her, but this is a good example of why they would be useful.

Yes, we think that detail level optional fields would be very useful in OE. I was thinking that Vickie was looking for a solution in a shorter time frame.
