Dear Support,

Client site has mixed Adagio environment. Diff. users can access Adagio in multiple ways
a) classic access from workstation running Win XP vith map drives
b) RDP straight to Adagio Server (win 2003 ent.ed, direct hardware host) , map drives via domain policies
c) RDP to another server ( internet proxy, win 2003 ent.ed running under hyper-v host) , map drives via domain policies

for the user with method c) the following has been detected:
user will work in OE using F6 serch to fing customer's orders. Seach will work OK for some time after running OE module. At some time search will emmideately exits showing no results. No error or other messages. After this moment any attempt to run search results emmidiate exit from seach dialog with no results
after user exits and enters OE , search will continue to work OK again till certain point in time. User reports 6-7 exits/enters during the day

this issue is not reported by any other user.

At this time there is only one user with method c) actively using F6 .
He is trying to blame RDP for this issue and want me to set him with method a)
I do not want to do so.

How can I convince the user and his manager that RDP has no influence in this issue (or am I wrong ?)
How can this issue be corrected or detail troubleshoot ?

Vlad:

What Opportunistic Locking and SMB settings are you using?

Can't say I recall having run across this exact problem but then we no longer officially support Windows 2003, less than 5% of our clients still haven't upgraded and it has been years since we last had to troubleshoot a problem with Windows 2003 (due to the lack of users not because of the software quality).

To avoid problems like this we recommend that all users access Adagio the same way. In your scenario, option B would be the most appropriate.
