Have just encountered this issue.

Client prints a batch listing in Ledger to file using Word as default.
Everything seems to work properly but the file is not saved.

This occurs with any report saved to file.

If Excel is used in place of Word the file is saved.

This was working correctly and seems to be isolated to Ledger.

Ledger Version is 9.1A (130726)

Is Word installed on the machine?

But really - why are they doing this? If they are trying to save the batch listing in electronic form then PDF would be much better format. Print the report to the AdagioPDF printer.

Better yet, install an client NFR of ePrint at this site and show them how seamless all of this can be.

Bill/Andrew:

I noticed at a client some time ago, that they would print a report to file and select Word, Adagio will listen to us and the file is created.
But when we go into Word and try to open the file, Word gives an error message that it is unable to open the file.

My thought is that once-upon-a-time this was useful and actually worked,
But now that we have the ability to print all reports to pdf format, this option is probably obsolete and not of great value.

I wonder if this option of "print to Word" should be retired from the Adagio print options?

The primary reason to print to Word (or Excel) is so that the report can be edited. Adobe at $300.00US is often times too expensive for small businesses. If I really need to edit a PDF I'll use AbleWord which is open source. It's not bad and it's free.

I just encountered this with a Ledger batch but I also have a new-to-me version of Word.

When I tried to open the GL_Batches.doc, I got a message about the file type being blocked by File block setting. Once I unblocked all file types, I was able to open it and the information is correct.
