I have one user who's AR does not refresh. For example, if she edits a customer's name, other users will see the customer with their new name, but on her computer, it still shows up under the old name. We tried closing all her Adagio programs and re-opening and still, it shows the old customer name on her computer. I've never seen this before. We've noticed the problem for a couple of weeks. Any ideas? We are using AR 9.1A (130606).

Hi Susan,

Please ensure that both of the computers are looking at the same dataset.
What happens when the "problem" computer modifies a record?
Does the second "normal" computer display it as modified after refreshing?

I double checked and yes, she is using the same dataset. She is also running the current version and all her other modules are current as well. I ran check sys and it showed no warnings or errors.

If I make a change on my AR, for example, if I post a cash batch, she can't see the transaction on the customer on her AR. When she made a change to a customer name from her AR, it refreshes on everyone else except for her! It's so strange.

Check the workstation's OpLocks and SMB settings. OpLocks Enabled and SMB 2 if all W7 workstations on Server 2008 R2.

OpLocks is enabled. Not sure what SMB 2 is but everything is working fine today. She tells me it happens at the end of the day sometimes. We'll keep an eye on it.

Yesterday everything worked fine. Today was fine until 11:00 am. In OE Alison went in to Edit Customer and changed the bill to street from Belmont to Anderson on a particular customer. She also added a ship to address to Princess Street. Then she created a new order for this customer in OE and the new ship to address came up correctly, however the bill to address came up with the old bill to on Belmont. If she goes in to Edit Customer, it still says bill to Belmont as well. She cannot refresh her computer to view the changes, however, everyone else can create an order, edit, view the customer and the bill to says Anderson. Even if she opens AR, she is still seeing the old bill to information. Everything else on her system is working fine. She is connected to the network and working normally with no errors.

We disconnected her mapped drive from the server and reconnected it and it's all good now which would indicate that this is some sort of network problem. It seems to send info out to the network but is not receiving info back. We are narrowing down the problem and resolving it now.

I have seen this type of problem before.

What no one has asked your for is the operating system for your server and workstations. More than likely you have a mix of workstation o/s, with some still XP. Likely you also have some old XP on the network but not being used for Adagio. Even if I'm wrong I'll bet if you check all of your workstations (Adagio and non-Adagio w/s) you will find that Opportunistic Locking is not consistently set the same way as it is on your server. All it takes is one to be different, even more so is this a problem if there are still XP w/s on the network.

Hi Doug,

Thanks for your reply. All of our workstations are Windows 7. All have opportunistic locking enabled. There are no other computers connected to our system other than cell phones, ipads and laptops occasionally using the wifi, but not connected to the server.

Laptops using the wifi are considered to be connected to the network and will be seen by the server as another workstation. Any chance of being able to determine if this random problem occurs when one of the laptops are accessing the wifi?

HI Doug,

The only laptop we've had connected is a mac and it's only been used here on a rare occasion. It does not seem to coincide with when we were experiencing problems, however, we will keep it off our system for now and see if the problems recur. Thanks for the info. I will post updates here if we nail it down.
