Hello,

This recently popped up when we are generating a PO. When we select the details tab and attempt to add a new line item, the following messagebox pops up, "Please select GL account number." While I understand the problem, I'm not sure where to look to resolve the error.

Hello Joe,

There is not enough information to answer your question. Which version of Purchase Orders? What kind of a detail: Inventory Item, Sundry Item?

I get this Error message: 'Please select valid GL account number' if I select a sundry item that has not been set up properly with a G/L expense acct.

It is a newly created inventory item.

Inventory Items get the account from the Inventory Control Account Set.

If this is truly an IC Item then the only reason for this error is because someone decided to clean up the GL chart of accounts and deleted an account numbers assigned to the Inventory Control Account. This error would then be occurring for all items assigned to the Control Account.

Seems more likely that the user has (possibly accidently) selected to use a Sundry Item instead, in which case Supports explanation is correct.
