I was having trouble printing receipts for two vendors in PO and couldn't figure out why. I was getting the "Nothing in range error". I discovered someone (myself possibly) had unchecked the Print method so only Email was checked. Why have print as an option when it must be checked to print a receipt, and who doesn't print receipts? You can't even email a receipt because that button is grayed out in the receipt window.

Could it not be set-up to mirror Order Entry? If the Print button is selected from the side of the grid, both print and email work regardless of what's set-up in the customer profile. It would make things a little more consistent between modules.

Hi Mike,

The reasoning for having the Send Method apply to all document types rather than just POs was that the release of PO8.1C did not allow vendor selection when printing documents with multiple vendors, and thus the desire was to avoid printing/sending documents that shouldn't (such as shipping charges). Vendor selection when printing will available in the next upgrade of PO, though the send method will still apply to all document types, at least in the very next release (which should be soon).

Purchase Orders is different than Order Entry for printing, primarily because PO documents can have multiple vendors, and OE documents can only have one customer. But I will pass your suggestion to Development, for one-off printing to always send POs by the chosen method (for selected vendors) even if the vendor is not set up to send POs that way.

Hi Softrak

If it means anything to you, the "Nothing in range error" is the most common support issue I get on PO, about once a week. I agree with Mike, especially now that in 8.1D you can select which vendors from the PO printing screen.
