Hi Andrew,

First make sure that you have full supervisor rights to both the SRASP directory and the data directory. The fact that you have the option to convert one of the data sets and not the other suggests things installed OK.

Then rename/remove the saasp directory. Sales Analysis 6.5 has a prefix of SR, and installs to a different program directory than 6.1B (thus the reason why both appear in the list of installed versions).

Remove the references to your Sales Analysis data from the WSM start list where the program is SA. This is no longer valid. If you use this start list, because you still had the old Sales Analysis present, the program will still be happy in loading the data in the old version. Make sure you only have 1 start list entry for each of your data sets, and the program is SR for Sales Analysis 6.5A for each.

Hi Andrew,

That function to Scan data from Accpac Sales Analysis is precisely how to retrieve data into the Softrak Sales Analysis database. This should definitely work for you. The data is not converted from SADETAIL, but is 'copied' into our SRTRANS file. Note that only OE data will be retrieved and not AR data.

The Quik Reports issue is fairly simple. When a 3rd party application is installed or re-installed, the QRVLINKS.LD4 file (in \QRASP) sometimes has to be written to. This is to recognize the existance of 'virtual links'. In QR 6.1, there are a maximum of 20 virtual links allowed (max = 30 in QR 6.5A). What you have to do is edit this file (in Wordpad, MS Word, or any text editor) and remove any duplicate rows. Make sure that a row is exactly identical before removing it, and it doesn't matter which duplicate is removed.

One other thought. For the data set where you get an 'upgrade' message (the *.buc data), is there an SADETAIL or SATRANS data file? Softrak's Sales Analysis 6.5A no longer automatically detects Accpac Sales Analysis and attemps to convert it. The Scan function is the only way to do it. If you have SATRANS.buc, then this is an older version of our Sales Analysis.

Hi Andrew,

As you have SATRANS for both data sets, I would suggest renaming SRASP, and try re-installing Sales Analysis 6.5A. You may also want to try moving the data to a local hard drive, set up a new start list entry for the C: location of the data, and attempt the conversion again. This is to remove any network rights or other such complications.

This is indeeed unusual as you were able to convert 1 data set successfully.
