We are using IC version 8.1D(120126) and having issues with very slow queries to viewing an item. The main list for the item inquiry comes up in a few seconds, but once you select an item to view it can take on the order of a minute or longer to display the item. This is happening on all of the machines that pull information from the IC database.

One thing that I have already tried is to remove the virus protection from one computer to test and verify that it was not the new program that was installed.

Any ideas?

Is this new behavior or has it been happening for a while? If you copy your data local, how long does it take to open an item? Do you have images stored with your items?

This is a new behavior, on the order of a week or so. We did copy to a local machine and discovered that after
the first request for an inventory view the response was much faster. On the order of about 6 seconds or so where
as coming from the server it was greater than a minute response even with the same item. We do not store images
in our database which currently has about 28,000 items.

OK - you are having a network issue, since it is running 10 times slower than your local drive. Either your Anti-virus is getting in the way, or you are having a hardware issue somewhere between the server and the workstation.
