Going in today to import our bank statement into BankRec (first time since our recent update to 8.1D). The debits in the bank statement are showing up with a double negative (ex: --56.50) and throw an error when I import. Not sure what I need to do to change the setting so it does not add the extra character, please help! Our template from the bank did not change.

Did the bank change their download file? Has it been downloaded in the same format as the import template was designed for? Does your bank offer a download formatted for Simply Accounting or QuickBooks, both of which export in OFX format.

Everything looks exactly as it was before. I have sent the bank a message for confirmation, but the file does not appear to have changed. I tried the ofx version and it worked fine...still baffled by the csv though!

Generally, we recommend using the OFX file if it's available. There's no ambiguity about the layout.

Did you run a process on the downloaded CSV before submitting it to be imported? It sounds like the bank decided to put a minus sign in the file and that something external added an additional one.
