Hello Support:
How does Datacare locate "Installed Applications" on start-up? At one site the only applications visible are AP and PO but DC used to show GL, AR, OE, IC etc. The PO beta is installed if that makes any difference. Datacare 9.0A (2011-03-24).

Thank you.

Hi Bruce,

The 'installed applications' list is a combination of the data in the directory and the installed DIC dictionaries. Perhaps the company data you are looking at only has AP and PO (and DC) data in it?

When the PO81C beta is installed, this doesn't affect DataCare - I can successfully see all the application DIC dictionaries including GL, AR, OE, IC etc when that data exists in addition to PO.

Hi Support,

It's our site that's having the problem. I verified that DataCare is pointing at the correct dataset and that only AP and Adagio PO is showing (I created a new job and they were the only modules showing). I had been using the NFR Dealer Demo prior to purchasing.

Is DataCare install on the same drive as all the other Adagio modules?

Are you sure?

I'm almost certain it is (I'll double check in the morning).

If it isn't, it's my fault! smile I should add that I changed the NFR into a live version by inserting the licence codes rather than re-installing DC.

When I open DC to the PO81C sample data, I see 10 data modules in the new job. Mine is working, so something isn't quite right with the DC program files. Check the \SOFTRAK\DATACARE\DICDLLS folder. Sort it by date. You should see a DCE@U81C.DLL and SSIIDENT.DLL that are the most recent. The dates on those two files should be 12/10/2012 or later. If you don't see DCE@U81C.DLL, it's not configured for the PO beta. The PO81C install should have put them there. I'd recommend you try opening the PO81C sample data. I'm not sure what's in your client's data directory.

Hi Bob

Thanks very much - that was it. I checked the DICDLLS folder and there were only three files in it: SSIIDENT.DLL, DCE@P81E, and DCE@U81C. Those are the two modules that I could see in the job list. I also had a ssDicdlls folder in the DataCare folder. It had the full list of modules in there except the two in DICDLLS. So I copied them all over (except the SSIIDENT.DLL in ssDicdlls; it's date was older) to the DICDLLS folder.

Started DataCare, selected create a new job. and all modules were listed. Will try running tonight to make sure but I think everything should be all right.

Thank you.

Sounds like you have Adagio installed in two different locations.

It's odd that you'd have an ssDicdlls folder. If it wasn't manually renamed, perhaps it's something that Softrak is doing during the install. Something for them to review.
