Would like to change item in different location from "On Demand" to "active". But everytime I changed and saved,when I go back in again to check,it changed to "On Demand" again.

In Company Profile is set at "Allow items at all location". Please advise.

What version of Adagio Inventory are you using? How/where are you editing an item to make it active at a location?

I tried to follow the same steps and could not replicate the error - the Active status is maintained after saving the item. I created a new Item and Location code to test different combinations, then apply the active status to the Item/Location. I also edited the Location code to set item(s) as allowed with no problem.

The active status of items at locations are stored in data file called ICILOC??.dat, so ensure that data integrity is clean and that no files have inadvertantly been set to have read-only status or similar.

We are using 8.1D version. I tried on the new item it seems to works fine.

But on the existing item, all others location are active but one is "on Demand" and I tried to change it to "Active" it would not save the changes. And when I go to "Edit Location" the "Edit Item" listing showed "YES" even it is on demand. Normally, when an item is "On Demand" it should not be a "YES". If I remove it from the listing then Only it allows me to save the changes.

Hi Barb,

If the problem does not occur for new items, and the problem goes away when you remove a status and then re-apply it, I would conclude that there is something incorrectly stored in the data for those items, rather than there being a problem with the program in being able to save the change. Especially if when editing a lcoation, you see a status of Yes for an item being allowed when in another place a status of On Demand is visible.

For example, Purchase Orders for Adagio has been known to not set these values correctly if the item was created from there rather than from Inventory or Order Entry.

You probably will need to get your Adagio consultant involved, if there is a problem with your data.

If you wanted to investigate this further, and you use GridView, create a new inquiry on the Inventory - Item Locations Master table. For an item to be allowed at a location, a record needs to exist for that location, and the field value 'Carried in Loc?' needs to be True. Perhaps in your case the item/location record exists but the Carried value is False.
