Hello Support:
AdagioPDF is a licensed version of NovaPDF. Does it have the full functionality of the NovaPDF driver?

Yes, but it is only licensed for printing from Adagio. If you want to print from Excel and/or Word without the license reminder in the footer, you'll have to purchase NovaPDF.

Andrew:
One of my clients would like to email Work Orders (using Invoices module). They don't want to use the Adagio email model because, for reasons too lengthy to explain, the email address is not associated with the customer. They want to click on the "Print" button, have a PDF created automatically (with a default name), and then have Outlook automatically start with a new blank email created (PDF attached) and waiting for them to enter an email address.

I have found a PDF driver that does that very smoothly. However if I can get the AdagioPDF driver to do that, that would be simpler. NovaPDF says it can be done, though I'm not able to make it work. I'll check with them further. Thank you.

Hi Bruce,

Try opening the AdagioPDF driver via the Windows printers setup and Printing Preferences. On the Email tab, perhaps the option to 'Open default email client' is the desirable way. If there is a way to configure AdagioPDF to do this, this is the place to visit.

Hi Bruce,

Why not have the other email address associated with a ship-to/contact and send the email to that address?

I did consider that option and even thought it was the solution for a few moments. The Ship To list would then represent external trade firms that provide services to the customer (the Adagio user is an intermediary arranging services for the customers).

But maintenance of the Ship To list becomes difficult because, while the user only has a dozen clients in this situation, the list of external trades is about 200. That's a fair amount of updating as trades are added or changed.

But what convinced me was a discussion with the manager of that division. They have been using QB and he said "in QB, we just print the Work Order to Outlook and then select the email address from there, plus type the covering message - one click". He wasn't happy with the number of steps that I demonstrated in the Adagio model. In the end, since he is compromising on other things, I am happy to find a solution that gives him exactly what he wants in this issue.

QB makes you choose and email every time you send something. Normally that's a pain. I guess not in this case.

Did you find the setting you needed?

I have sent my needs to the folks at NovaPDF. They think their newer version of NovaPDF will do the trick (AdagioPDF uses a 2010 version). If they can prove that it will work, the client will purchase 5 licences of their product.
