Hi,

I've upgraded all Adagio Modules (OE, IC, AR, AP, AL, SR) from Legacy version to the Current verion. With no problem.

When chksys is run, it will show me the version of Adagio Modules and LanPak that are installed and the information are correct and current. But when I close the chksys window, it crushes and gives an error message.

Event viewer show the message below:

*********************************************************
Faulting application name: GLBC649.tmp, version: 2.0.2.12, time stamp: 0x4b96d7aa
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.17514, time stamp: 0x4ce7ba58

The Adagio Module is in:
Windows Server 2008 R2
16GB Ram
1TB HD

chksys.exe (2.0.2.12)
ads32.dll (1.12.54.2823)
ads.dll (1.12.53.2519)

I run it through remote desktop and xp (sp3) workstation and both behave the same way.

So far, all module are running when it is open. I'm just worried on how the chksys error will affect the adagio modules.

Please let me know how will these affect the modules and how it can be corrected.

Hi Marlon,

ChkSys looks for the existance of files on your local workstation, to see if they are there and if they have the expected file date. A failure of ChkSys should not have any influence over how the Adagio programs themselves work.

Do other users have the same problem running and closing ChkSys?
Do you have administrative rights to your workstation? It shouldn't be necessary, but it's good to know.
When running ChkSys, what is the 'version' (month and year) displayed in the title?

I haven't heard of this problem before.

Hello,

Sorry I wasn't able to get back soon.

I tried upgrading it in Win2k3 R2 32bit, because I was thinking that 32bit and 64bit may have something to do with it but apparently not.

Yes, other users have the same problem.
Yes, I do have administrative rights to my workstation.
The ChkSys window title had a June 15, 2012 date.

The failure is in ntdll.dll, not chksys. Time to start searching Google.

Thanks for your reply Andrew.

Both Server (2k8 R2 64bit) and XP PRO (SP3, Workstation) that I tested are newly installed from scratch. So, not sure why the ntdll.dll will error out.

Anyhow, I took this route to resolved the issue or should I say work around it.

Re-installed all Adagio Modules from scratch. And now tried it from the same workstation and server and it didn't give me that error anymore.

I'm thinking probably the files in softrak folder somehow got corrupted and it is not upgrading the chksys and its dll correctly.

More Info: (Hope this will be helpful in finding out what is wrong)

This is the Upgrade Version that error'ed out.
chksys.exe (2.0.2.12)
ads32.dll (1.12.54.2823)
ads.dll (1.12.53.2519)

Fresh Install Versions (No Errors)
chksys.exe (2.0.2.12)
ads32.dll (1.12.54.2917)
ads.dll (1.12.53.2501

FYI. I tested Adagio OE, IC, AL, AR, AP in Windows 8 and it seems to work fine. Will test it more. Just thought to share it with you folks.

Marlon
