Can you add an Item inquiry button to OE? Would be very handy and save us from having to teach everyone to go to Inquiries/Display Items with Cost.

Even better would be the ability to customize which buttons appear, by user.

Hi Susan,

Where did you want to be able to access an Item Inquiry within OE - on the screen where items are added to orders?

If so, then a button is already there, and it can be configured by security. Edit a security group from the File menu and Group Setup, and open the Order Template tab. At the bottom are a number of non-template options, and at the very bottom-right is an option called 'View Item information'. There are 3 options - With Cost, Without Cost, and None. If you set this to be 'With Cost' then users belonging to this security group will see an 'Item' button when adding/editing items on orders and will load the item inquiry with sales/costs function.

Note that only users who have security access to the Inquiries / Display Items with Sales/Costs menu will be able to use this 'With Cost' setting.

And since security groups in Adagio can be defined specifically for each user, this setting can be tailored for each user - provided you wish to create a different security group for everyone.

If this isn't where you wanted to see the button, please indicate the location.

What about a "Notes" button instead, similar to Gridview, with the capability of printing and/or exporting to Excel. I have peple who keep crib notes for different things in the program. Putting them in an on screen note makes it easily accessable and would help with training (compile everybody's note in one place ie Excel, to spot common problems). Allow it to be pressed from any of the data entry windows.

I like the Susan and Steve suggestion to be able to define our own buttons. Alternatively, leave the existing buttons and give the ability to add buttons to a secondary button bar or to the Adagio desktop (similar to adding shortcuts on the Windows desktop).

Mike's suggestion would allow users to document Adagio based on their own processes and staff. I can envision an [F1] Help system that allows the user to add notes to parallel files to match the Help files supplied by Softrak. Then by pressing [F1], the user could see what Softrak explains plus existing notes from other staff members or the manager. This would make it easier to train new staff and help to document the system. I've not seen that capability in any application so far so it may be easier to envision than to actually do. smile
