Hi Gary,

I've move this to a new thread since it's really a different topic.

Without knowing the specifics of the workstation and the network in use, it's hard to comment. Usually, slow performance is caused by your anti-virus checking every file Adagio opens, each time the file is opened (and some files are opened and closed many times as Adagio launches.

Also, "slow" is a relative term. What are you comparing Adagio on the new workstation to?

I guess we'll need more information before being able to help further. Workstation OS? Server OS? Network speed? Adagio versions?

Hello, I've been having a similar problem on machines that have been running Adagio G/L, A/P for several years. No changes in operating systems nor has any hardware been replaced or upgraded. I'm storing my data on a Dell SC 430 server, running MS Small Business Server 2003. All versions of Adagio software is up to date. I use MS Security Essentials for Anti-Virus protection on all workstations. As for slow... it now takes more than a minute for the Adagio splash screen to show up. I clicked on Help to verify current version and it's taken more that two minutes to finally produce a "not responding". Something is going on with Adagio software and it makes no sense. Any Ideas?

That is VERY slow. Try disabling MS Security Essentials. Here's a thread in which it caused a problem. MS Security Essentials. The symptoms aren't the same but it's a good starting point.

I just had a client solve their performance issue with a different solution. They had been complaining about slow speed for a couple of years so I suggested IT move Adagio another server. Load times were cut in half. Of course that assumes an environment with 2 or more servers!

Workstation OS's? OpLocks Settings? Network speed?

Just a follow up on last August's slow computer issue. Turns out my Linksys router / switch was failing and dying a slow death. Data transfer on the channel my workstation was connected to was severely compromised. I upgraded to new 100/1000 switches - problem solved.
