Hello Katie,

What format of Check are you printing? Are you printing 1 large check or a Check and 2 advices?

If the check was previously working perfectly and you print checks and advices the problem may be that the Max details in Specification options is not set properly. This printer driver may be reserving more space for header and footer than before.

This is the calculation for Max details:
In the Max details field, indicate the maximum number of detail lines that will fit on one advice. You will need to calculate this by subtracting the size of the advice header and footer from the height of the advice slip. Then, take that calculation and divide it by the height of your advice detail section(s). (Remember that all advice detail sections must be the same height, so if you have more than one detail section, simply use the height of any one of the detail sections for this calculation.)

Hello Katie,

Are you using a dot matrix printer? Is the check stock you're using 8.5 inches deep, or some other length. Normally in Windows you have to set the length of the printer in the printer settings somewhere.

Laser checks are much easier to use (and don't require alignment).

Hello Katie,

Because Quik Check for Windows is a Windows-based product, its interaction with dot matrix printer drivers may not be fully supported. More specifically, it is often not possible for a Windows application to recognize the page breaks for a dot matrix printer driver.

The key to allowing you to print checks on your dot matrix printer is setting up a form feed for 7" on your printer. In other words, can you set up your printer, either through dip switches or menus on the printer, or through the driver itself, to have the page length as 7"? When you press the form feed button on the printer, it would eject only 7" and not 11". If you can do this, then you will have success printing your checks.

Hello Katie,

Actually, it's not so much XP being a problem, as the Okidata printer driver for XP. You will need to "poke around" in the printer properties/settings to see if you can set the default page length to 7 inches. Failing that, you could always buy an inexpensive laser printer and laser checks from your local office supply store. You don't need specially encoded checks with Adagio, as we include the MICR font for printing the bank information.
