Hi,

We are getting an error when we try to open reports (i.e. Overdue receivables report) from within Adagio Receivables. The error is:

Access violation at address 0040C3CF in module `CRWIN.EXE`. Read of address 00188008.

This error will pop up the first time we try to open the report; however, if we close AR and reopen it, we are able to access the reports without error. This will remain the case for about the next 30 minutes, at which time, we will receive the access violation error again.

After checking for other posts related to access violations, I did not find any that were of much comparable use. We are currently using Adagio Receivables 8.1A.

Any suggestions...

Since this is such an old version of Adagio Receivables, what is the environment it is running on? What has changed in that environment recently (since presumably you've been running without this problem for a couple of years)?

Our server is Windows Server 2003 SP2.
We use Citrix to access all of our Adagio Modules.

This problem has unfortunately been occurring for ~9 months.

The only aspect that I can think of that changed during this period is which Citrix user account we were using in order to pull these reports.

For a period of time, I though this error was occurring only on specific user accounts in Citrix, but have now found that it occurs on multiple Citrix accounts.

Overall, this error only occurs about 25% of the time, and usually only after AR has been open/idling for at least 30min.

Unfortunately, I am not able to provide many more details than these. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Is it possible that Citrix is dropping the connection due to inactivity?

Our Citrix is configured to never disconnect a logged in session due to inactivity. It is also very apparent when Citrix disconnects a session, because it will either completely disappear from the users screen, or refuse to accept any user inputs as though it were frozen...

Could this error possibly be caused by another user accessing an item in AR at the same time someone else is trying to access a report from receivables that references that specific item?

I know Adagio usually displays a warning/notification if someone tries to access something that another user is also accessing/modifying. Could this just be a situation such as that, but lacks an appropriate notification in our version of AR?

Any idea what changed from 9 months ago? Since you mention a different user, are that user's rights on the network identical?

Sorry, but you're going to have to isolate the circumstances that make this repeatable, and even then, we wouldn't be able to fix the problem in that release for you.
