We are upgrading to a new server this weekend. I just learned this week that I might need our Adagio consultant to assist but I haven't been able to reach anyone.

Is there a document that can be sent to me that outlines the steps I need to follow?

I've done a bit of research and I'm assuming I can download the modules I need on the new server from the Adagio website. But, I will need install codes etc. I'm not sure if I have our original ones handy anywhere. Can someone send me new codes or something?

Any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Laura

Hi Laura

With some qualifications, you can simply migrate the \Softrak, \QRASP and data folders and subfolders from your existing server to your new one. As long as your mapped Adagio drive letter is the same on the new workstations, they should work fine. If you used to use ACCPAC Plus, you might want to also migrate the \ASP folder too just to be safe.

Qualifications:
1) I'm assuming your Adagio versions are 8.1 or higher
2) Crystal Reports for Adagio is an exception, and has to be reinstalled from a workstation
3) You aren't using the server as an Adagio workstation

You can always get your Adagio codes directly from Softrak just by asking.

Hi Laura,

Your UNC (Universal Naming Convention) to the new server must be identical to the old server, if you want to copy the directories indicated by Steve above - where UNC was used during the original install. I've seen copying directories fail - even though the drive mapping was the same for both servers - because the UNC was different.

We typically recommend re-installing Adagio programs to a new server because if something is missed, or some underlying path or code is not the same between the servers, it's possible that unexplainable scenarios could occur, such as Workstation Install screens appearing and preventing access to Adagio.

I don't mind reinstalling onto the new server. I just need to know the correct process/order to follow for installing. What number do I call to get the codes I need to do the download and install?

Softrak's phone number is 604-736-3741.

Honestly, if you can't reach your Adagio consultant who can get the codes for you quickly, then you might want to think about why you are using that consultant.
