Working in Payables, I entered my invoices, posted batch and went to print invoice posting journal. An error access violation warning appeared and I could not exit from this. I shut the computer down and restarted. I then did a data integrity check which found 128 errors. This is the first time I've experienced any errors. What do I need to do to remedy this?

Jill:
What version of Payables are you using? Is this the first time you've run the Data Integrity Check since you upgraded? There's a very good chance that those errors are unrelated to what you experienced. Could you use the mouse to select those errors, copy the highlighted block (using [Ctrl][C]) and paste it here? The Data Integrity Check has recently been upgraded to flag things that it used to ignore before. If that's the case, the messages can be resolved by using the "Rebuild" button.

Hi Bruce,
I haven't upgraded my payables lately. Could this have anything to do with our new fiscal April 1st?

Hi Jill:
That's not what I expected to see. I'll let Support weigh in on this one. And no, the fiscal year-end isn't a factor.

Hi Jill,

File integrity errors tend to be a mis-match between the data and the index. If posting gets interrupted, this is a likely result.

The most ideal solution is to restore your data from a good back-up, prior to posting the batch.

The next best solution is to make a backup of the data as it is now, run the integrity check again, and choose to Rebuild the errors. You might get another backup of the data with a 'Rebuild' suffix, to indicate that this data backup has integrity errors and was made as part of a Rebuild process. After rebuilding, run the integrity check again and the data may be clean, or there may be different errors found that also need to be Rebuilt. Finally, check the data to see if the correct information is there or if it is missing.

The third possible solution is to have the data repaired, if it is not correctly fixable by the Integrity Check and there is no good recent data back from wich to restore.

Whatever you do, you may need to be in contact with your Adagio consultant to advise on the best route for your situation.

Jill... I'll call you tomorrow first thing to resolve. We may get to find out how good your backup is. As well... how has the server been operating lately? Any changes? Still in the dirty furnace room? Linda
