I am printing the backorder action report(detail) and the item number does not print... What could be the error here...

You may have several templates defined for Order Action reports.
If item numbers are not being printed, verify that Item number has been added to the list of Selected Fields for the template that you are printing.
The item number is selected and the column is showing in the report, all other fields show information, just the column of item number is empty...

Are your item numbers formatted as single segment item numbers?
If they are, that is causing the problem. I have just duplicated it here. I will forward this issue to R&D for investigation.
Yes our item numbers aer all in 1 segment, like BLBOOI100. (9 caracters max).

Unfortunately, it requires a fix to the program. The changes will be included on the next release of OrderEntry.
