Hello:
According to Royal Bank Tech Support, they don't offer QBO (Quickbooks) as a download format. They do offer a TXT format but that didn't import successfully. What format are others using?

Thank you.

Yes they do..

It is an OFX format.

OFXHEADER:100
DATA:OFXSGML
VERSION:102
SECURITY:TYPE1
ENCODING:USASCII
CHARSET:1252
COMPRESSION:NONE
OLDFILEUID:NONE
NEWFILEUID:NONE

But you DO NOT use Import

From Help:

Adagio BankRec allows you to import transactions from your bank for Matching to the Bank Reconciliation.
It will allow you to import Bank Statements in OFX or CSV formats.
For OFX, there is no need to define an Import Template.
Simply choose OFX as the Electronic recon. file format on the Interface page of the Bank Record.

Thank you Michael.
We actually got the TXT import working. The problem had been that the Cheque number column in the TXT file was 13 characters wide but the Import template allowed only 12. However I learned something today. As we sat working on the template, my client pointed out that the template allows us to edit the width of the field. We changed it to 13 characters, saved it and successfully imported the file. Problem solved!

Hi Bruce,

You should try the OFX format. You might find they send you more information there than in the TXT.

That's been my experience at least.

Andrew:
I'll know to use OFX the the next time (it doesn't require an import template). However I am pleased with what the TXT file provided, including 2 lines of Description.

I found that the OFX format from a BC Credit Union (referred to as the Simply Accounting format) fails part way through. I have defined the CSV format and that seems to work fine.

Perhaps they are "tweeking" OFX for Simply.
