Hello Howard,
Which version of Adagio Ledger are you using? We had this error reported on old versions of Adagio Ledger.
There was a problem posting batches when running the Adagio Ledger programs on some Windows 2000 machines. The source of the problem was the DBI. This is not a problem in ADS. ADS was introduced in in Adagio Ledger 6.8A (20010514)

I just received a call from a client who is running Adagio 6.8B on a Novell 5.0 newtwork. When Adagio is accessed from their W2K workstations, they get this same error message. Accessing from W98, workstation, weverything works fine. The OpLocks was enabled on the W2000 w/s, so I advised them to turn off the OppLocks - was this what was causing the 1399 error from the W2K workstations?
No, there's something else going on at your client site. Ledger 6.8B uses Softrak's ADS, not the DBI. Run CHKSYS on each workstation to make sure that the software has been set up correctly. Also, what version of the Novell client are they using? Some versions had problems and have had service packs released (which Adagio needs).
