Hi

My environment is as following:

I want to create a Crystal Reports for Adagio test environment. I copied the Adagio two folders to a server (test) and shared them out. I installed all Adagio modules in a workstation then I installed Crystal Reports for Adagio 8.5b on top of that.

The problem is: when I tried to open Adagio database files (the files such as ATGLOB.CNF), I can only open 10 out of 25. The error message is:
"Unrecognized AdagioŽ database. The application or version for the company global file you selected is not supported.
When I click OK, another error message comes up:
Configuraton Error. Library ""pdbbtrv.dll"" cannot be opened. Please check its configuration."

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bruce

Bruce:
ATGLOB is indeed not an Adagio database. I can't remember exactly, but one of the ACCPAC Plus-related applications used a preceding "AT" to identify its tables. What were the names of the other XXGLOB files that you were unable to open?

ATGLOB is actually a 3rd party database - Adagio Toolkit. You wouldn't be able to select that table when creating a Crystal Report from Adagio.

Thanks for your reply.
I have 25 files in folder Y:\Addata. only 10 of them can be opened. Can you help me identify why the other cannot be opened?

Crystal reports for Adagio will only be able to open Adagio modules from Softrak, unless the developer has provided appropriate tables for the report writer. All the ones you can open are Adagio module company profiles. I suspect that many other xxGLOB.CNF files are left over from Accpac. Certainly QRGLOB.CNF was the company profile for Quik Reports. There's nothing to report on there, and, unless you're still using Quik Reports for DOS, I'd remove all the QR*.CNF files from the directory.

Hi Henry

I think this list should be a trivia quiz for old-time ACCPAC Plus experts (a redundant phrase) - name the dataset! Join in everyone!

I know that BT is PBT Pro by Cognoscente, IT is Inventory Tools by EIS, OH is Invoice/Sales History by Softline Systems, TC is Contact Master by Softline Systems.

The ones that are not in the precise format xxGLOB.CNF are not live copies of data but are something else, such as backups.

Steve --

I'm an old-timer, just not ACCPAC Plus. Could ZP be Zippy Notes?

Hi Bruce,

As a hint, if you want to know the two-character prefix for any Adagio application data, you can look at the Backup Data function for just that program and it will show xx* and SD* (system files). xx is the prefix. Also the DataDictionaryExporter.exe utility will show this, as will a number of files in the program folder.

AC - SalesCQ
AP - Payables
AR - Receivables
BR - BankRec
DC - DataCare
GL - Ledger
IC - Inventory
IR - PurchaseOrders
OE - OrderEntry
SR - SalesAnalysis

As a bonus, here are other Adagio prefixes:
AF - FX
AJ - JobCost
EP - ePrint
QC - Checks
QI - Invoices
TB - Time&Billing
