We run FX to allow our department managers to see their financial information. Because we operate our various programs under separate legal entities this information is kept in 6 different GLs.
This means that every morning we have to manually run the "retrieve accounting data" function for the 6 GLs to ensure the FX data is updated. This takes more than an hour to complete.
Now, We run the GL's and FX off the server. The server's operating system is linux. Can you help to write a linux script that will automatically run the "retrieve accounting data" function every morning before the office opens?

Within FX on tge Retrieve Accounting Data window, select the Help button. On the topic that appears, select the See Also link. From that, select the Setting Up an Auto-Retrieve Topic.

I downloaded the manual for FX 9.0A (only one I see available online) and don't see a reference to setting up a scheduled task (on a windows platform) to do the retrieve overnight. Can you point me to a specific page where this is explained?

Launch FX and click the Retrieve button. Click Help. Click "See also". Click "setting up and auto-retrieve".

You'll find all the details you need to set up the automatic process to run overnight.
