Last night I installed the latest Toolkit Toolkit90CSP4Setup.exe. Everything installed fine and then I ran it to post a couple of item code changes. It completed without any issue and I closed the program and went to bed. This morning no one is able to log on to any module of Adagio. When we try to open Adagio it says, "Caution - Signon failed". Even the sys user gives the same error. I ensured that there were no open files, then rebooted the server. This did not solve the problem. Now I am restoring from the back up that Toolkit created right before it ran. I wish I had of realized it last night since I now have 15 staff standing around with nothing to do and just to make a copy of my data will probably take another hour.

Hi Susan,

This doesn't really sound like a Toolkit problem - more of a coincidence.

I know you are in the middle of restoring all your data, but can you log into any of the sample data sets?

Hi Susan,

I'm monitoring this thread, but I don't think the Toolkit upgrade is impacting your login to Adagio. There is a file in your data directory (ADSPROF) that tells Adagio where your login information is kept. If the content of that file has changed, you could find yourself locked out. I'd recommend that you login with SYS. Ensure that your data path and data extension are accurate.

I'm working with my dealer (Don Wise at Westboro) to resolve the issue.

I don't know why or how this happened. Everything was good last night. I installed the Sales Analysis Upgrade and then opened Sales Analysis successfully. Then I installed the Toolkit Upgrade and opened and ran Toolkit sucessfully. Then I closed Toolkit. DataCare did not run last night perhaps because it could not sign in.

Since I can't open ANY data, I re-installed Ledger and now I can open all programs except for OE and POA which are both giving me errors about dictionaries. I am about to reinstall OE and POA and hope to be up and running. Waiting for Don to send me codes.

Sounds like a drive mapping changed or something like that. Server rename? Disk drive failed or not powered up?

This is the kind of problem that is most quickly solved by someone helping you out "on site". Don's your guy. He should be able to figure out what's happening.

Sometimes coincidences like this are a pain.

It's good that your Adagio dealer is involved, because it's not the kind of problem that can be solved via this forum. If your Adagio apps are getting errors about dictionaries, you should probably reinstall all Adagio apps. BTW, the Toolkit has it's own set of dictionaries, that it doesn't share with the rest of Adagio.

If your Adagio shortcuts are not setup to go straight into your data, you have to take a moment to ensure that ID, Password, data path and extension are correct.

I didn't change my drive maps.. the only thing that is suspicisious to me is that ToolKit always wants to install on C: and I have to manually change it to I:, where as all other Adagio software knows that my programs are installed on I:. It runs through an Uninstall first before it installs. Not sure where it's uninstalling from.

Hi Susan,

That's great news! Do you have any idea what the problem was, or at least what was done to solve the problem?

Just trying to tidy the thread!
