=STRAT("As at")TRIM(ADGETF("GLDATES.DESC",FPRIOR(0))))

This is the formula in both financial reports intended to give a balance sheet - one with a little more detail than the other.

However one is giving me the current date of 2011 while the other one is giving with 2010 as well as 2010 figures with comparatives for 2009.

What does the "STRAT" part of the formula refer to.

Hi CPS,

The formula name should be STRCAT (not STRAT) and is short for 'STRing conCATinaction', or combining multiple text together into one long text.

The formula you posted is looking at the fiscal calendar to grab a description, based on the selected fiscal period and year on the toolbar. What values do you have selected for both of these? If you don't see both of these drop-down fields on the toolbar, you should access the View / Customize / Toolbar and 'reset' all of the toolbars to display any hidden buttons.

I suspect that a different fiscal year is selected than what you intended to use, and choosing the right fiscal year will fix your concern.

Typo the formula is indeed strcat.

I have period 12 selected. I do see where the consolidated icon is a 10 but it is not allowing me to select it.

Presently there are two years open, being 2010 and 2011.

I selected another balance sheet report which does not give the prior year figures and it also has the 10 grayed out but is giving me period 11 figures.

The 10 relates to the department, which I am not consolidating the departments. Where would I find the ability to select the year. I am using version 2.1.1.1613

As posted previously on thread, to show drop-down fields that may be hidden, go to the View menu and pick Customize. Then on the Toolbars tab, select the 'View' toolbar and click the Reset button. This will reveal all buttons on that toolbar.

The version you are running is somewhat older than current (I think 90A or 90B). Ledger 9.0D supports resetting the toolbar whether you are in the Maintain mode or the Print mode of the Financial Reporter. Not all versions support this (most older versions only allow this in Maintain mode). If you only have security access to Print Financial Statements and are running an older version, you may not be able to see the Customize function from the View menu of the Financial reporter.
