We are currently running Novell Client Small Business Suite 6 on our network. Are there any problems with this software running on this network?

Hello Bestwick

Although we're not familiar with this version of Novell, I wouldn't expect any problems - nothing has been brought to our attention that would suggest otherwise.

In our experience, any problems that have arisen in a Novell environment have occurred due to problems with the version of the Novell Client32 on the local workstations, rather than the NOS itself.

Other things to note:
Novell Client32 stations should have File Caching = OFF and Opportunistic Locking = Disabled in the Client32 Properties.

Regards

Our workstations are currently running Client 3.32. What kind of problems have you experienced?

Hi Bestwick,

If you've been running Adagio under this environment, and you haven't run into anything obvious, then you're probably OK!

The known issues would result in not even being able to open the program! This is Novell client 4.83 (for Windows 2000) without the Novell Client32 service pack installed.

I'm betting that you're running Windows 98 based on the version of Client32 you quoted; nothing known with that version running with Adagio.

Regards,

I'm sorry I guess I should clarify better. We have not yet purchased the software. I am just trying to determine if this software will work with our network, our computers and with the versions of AccPac we currently have. To better explain:

We are currently running Windows 98 Second. We are slowly upgrading to Windows XP. You know what network and client we are running.

We have run into the problem with our network not working with certain software so I just want to be 100% positive that this software will work with our computers and network before I look at the demo.

Thanks
