I installed the Service Pack for IC on July 28. We had an inventory item that had the correct cost and pricing on Aug 3. On Aug 4, a CN was enterred in OE for qty 1 of that item. Then the cost went completely haywire. Instead of adding the cost back to the item at $309.26, it added the cost back at $30,926.00. I've never seen anything like this. I've attached screen shots.

DataCare ran every day that week and there were no errors and no repairs. I also checked our Inventory account in Ledger and it increased for the correct amount on Aug 4.

To fix it I suppose I'll have to post a cost adjustment in inventory to correct the item, then delete the batch from ledger. Any idea how this could have happened?

Exactly how did you create the credit note, including whether or not a day end was run on the invoice before it was used to create a credit note? The exact steps without exception is the only way this will be repeatable and then fixed.

Hi Doug,

Aug 4 - OE/History found an Invoice dated July 21 and clicked Credit Note. Posted the Credit Note. The cost on the Credit Note is correct. The cost that went to Ledger is correct. The only thing incorrect is the IC item. Other Credit Notes are not creating any issues. I'm wondering if maybe the system was crashing while that Credit was posting? Interesting that Integrity check didn't find anything wrong. I think I have the problem solved now. I will report back if I see anything like that again.
