We have pulled the upgrade to Bankrec V8.1C from the web pending verification (and possible correction) of a possible problem. This only affects upgrades at this point, not new installs. However, links to all downloads have been disabled at this point.

Thanks for your patience.

Andrew:

For the benefit of those end users who might have already implemented the upgrade can you provide some clue as to what the problem is? Is there some function they should stop using?

Hi Doug,

We are still investigating. The potential problem is not with using BankRec, but the install process and perhaps more specifically how the downloaded upgrade is saved. We will post more when we know more.

We have uploaded a new install of BankRec V8.1C. While the issue uncovered was serious, it required several unusual steps to replicate, and the problem has been in our installs for more than 6 months without being encountered previously. Surprisingly, 2 clients ran into the problem on the same day, hence our initial concern.

Older installs will be fixed and uploaded over the next few days.

You will not encounter any difficulties whatsoever if you accept the default directory to unpack the EXE into. There's no requirement to change it in any case.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
