Use the Financial Reporter. In fact, look in Ledger sample data for the GL!STRIAL.SAM statement. You'll have to copy it to your data folder and change the extension but it should provide a good example for you to work with. Of course, you'll also want to edit the account ranges to better match your own.

Worked great. One more quick question.

I'm using the formula =ADDRONLY("GLDATA.OPEN",$B9) to give me my opening balance. Cell B9 has the account. Some accounts have multiple departements. I have all the departments in column C. For example for account 1010-1 (where 1010 is the account and 1 is the department) I have "1010" in B9 and "1" in C9.

How do i tell the forumula to get the balance for that account-department combination?

Perhaps try replacing $B9 in the formula with $B9 & "-" & $C9, which would concatenate the account and department, and put a dash between them. The ampersand character in formulas is used to connect multiple text strings. Thus your formula would look like:

=ADDRONLY("GLDATA.OPEN",$B9&"-"&$C9)

If you want the balance for all the departments (not specific ones) then place an asterisk ("*") where the departments are.
