Hi,

Our company has recently purchased a new server that will soon replace the one that currently has the Adagio install on it.

The old server is a Windows 2003 32bit Standard Edition and the new one a Windows 2008 R2 64Bit Standard Edition.

Since I am not the one who originally installed any of the software on our "OLD" server, I was wondering what needs to be move and what do I use to do the new install.

Is there a best practices manual or a list of files that need to be backup / moved? I would like to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Thanks
Yann

Hi, Yann,

We recommend that your Adagio software be installed to the new server, not copied. This way, all of the appropriate files will get installed on the new server. The Adagio Fundamentals manual contains information on installing Adagio modules (latest version available on our website under Support | Manuals), as does the 'Readme' help file available within each module from the Help menu.

If you do choose to copy from the old to the new server, you should still reinstall the software over top of it on the new server, again, to ensure all of the correct files are installed to the new server.

It's usually best to engage the services of your Adagio consultant when making moves like this.
