There have been discussions for a few years about one digit that is cut off of the end of RC and ADJ numbers when looking in IC Transaction History. Is this in the works to be corrected at some point? It makes it difficult when you can only trace the transaction history back to a partial RC or ADJ number.

In POA's company profile, on the Interface Options tab at the very bottom of the form is an option "Update IC buckets with". If you set that to "Last six characters", does it solve your problem? I can't remember if we've had this conversation before or if there was something else preventing that from working for you.

We do have "Last six characters" set up on the Interface Options tab in Profile. Unfortunately this does not solve the problem. In IC Transaction History, the Reference field shows the last digit cut off of every Receipt and every Receipt Adjustment.

Examples:

shoud be: RC 00004224
appears as: RC 0000422

should be: ADJ00004178
appears as: ADJ0000417

It is frustrating that we can only narrow it down to the number excluding the last digit. We waste time checking every RC and ADJ to determine which number is being referenced. RC0000422 could be RC00004221, RC00004222, RC00004223, etc. Sometimes it takes us 10 tries to get the right one!

I'm pretty sure I was told this would be corrected over a year ago but since then there have been several upgrades and service packs but the problem is still there.

The reason for this scenario is that the Reference field in Inventory History is 10 characters long. PO is trying to send the full 12 characters.

The fix to this issue is to increase the width of the IC History Reference field to 12, to be able to accept the entire information from PO. Because this requires data conversion as well as potential compatibility problems, it's not a simple fix to just get the last digit to work. This is on our list of things to do, but we can't do it until we can change the data structure of the IC History file.

I can appreciate the frustration in not being able to look up the precise document number in IC.
