I am trying to catch up on my old service packs & upgrades and am having trouble with the service pack. When I get to the directory option, it automatically comes up C:\Softrak\APWIN, but my data is on a network i.e. F:\Softrak\APWIN and only a or c are the choices. My tech person can't do this on the network as she isn't a user. What are we doing wrong?

Are you on Windows Vista or Windows 7, and have User Account Control enabled? If so, then this is preventing your mapped network drives from being visible. You need to temporarily remove the User Account Control setting on your Windows in order to do the update, then after you are done, turn it back on.

It may be that you will need your IT person to assist in changing this setting, depending on the rights you have to your workstation.

Thanks, that seems to have done the trick.

Now I have a 4/8/09 Adagio Invoices 8.1B (2009.03.16) to upgrade; however, when I go into the list to download, it is not available. The next service pack from 5/21/09 won't work because the Invoices I do have is too old for it. Now what do we do?

Service packs for a particular version will not install on top of a different version. If you don't already have version 8.1B installed, then a service pack for 8.1B cannot install on top of it.

I suspect that you may not actually have version 8.1B installed in the same place in which you are attempting to install the service pack.

The current version of Adagio Invoices is 9.0A - this shipped in the summer this year. Rather than fiddling with version 8.1B, you may be better off downloading the upgrade for version 9.0A and bypass the older service pack for an older version.

Correct, I only have Invoices 8.1A and wanted to do the 8.1B Upgrade, but it is not on the list available to download even though older ones are there. Can it be made available?

I am not quite ready for any of the 9.0 upgrades.

From our homepage, look at the Downloads menu and pick Upgrades instead of Service Packs. From here, you can download the 'Upgrade' to the same version of Adagio Invoices, which is required to change the version from 81A to 81B. You can go directly to the May 2009 release and bypass any previous releases at the 81B level. Here is a link to the Upgrades web page.

The serial number and install code for this upgrade would have been emailed to you when version 81B was first released, back in March 2009.

Thanks for your help - that worked.

Enjoyed a workshop with Andrew Bates in Phila yesterday. I was encouraged to get out of the past and upgrade, so I have quite a few with which to catch up!
