We have a customer that we have deleted all the alerts for but the old alert still pops up 3 times (the same alert). The only way we can stop it is to uncheck enable alerts on that customer. We want to add a new alert on this customer but if we do it pops up 4 alerts, 3 the the old one and 1 the new one. How can we get rid of this problem?

What function are you running to pop the customer alert? Editing the customer? Editing an order for the customer? Also, which program are you running the function, as that might possibly make a difference.

If an OE document, then alerts are also stored on ship-to address codes and perhaps you have alerts set up there that also need to be removed.

We have not heard of alerts appearing for customers for which the records were deleted. Especially the same alert 3 times. I wonder if the data integrity is clean.

It occurs when editing the customer in both OE and AR and when entering an order in OE. Sometimes it pops up once, sometimes 3 times. I can't get rid of it and start fresh. The old alert won't go away. Data integrity was good last time it ran which was Friday night. On Sept 2 there were File Errors in Customer Alerts and they were rebuilt with Data Care. It's possible this problem has been there on this customer since that time and I'm just finding it now.

Customer Alerts ... 1 error(s) found ........................................... FAILED

Summary

File Integrity ... 1 error(s) found ............................................ FAILED

Finshed at: 2010.09.02 23:49

Data Repair Phase

Rebuilding Customer Alerts ... Done

Finished rebuilding integrity errors.

Once you do the rebuild, run the data check again to be sure. Some times I find I have to run the data check and then the rebuild a number of times with the data backed up before hand!

The integrity check runs every night. Nothing has come up with in any integrity checks in regards to customer alerts since Sept 2.

Can anyone help here? I have no way to get rid of the alert on this customer. It pops up 3 times in AR edit/view customer, OE edit/view customer, OE when entering an order. I need to change the alert but can't get rid of the old one. Integrity check shows no errors. Please advise.

If you use GridView to examine the Alerts table, what do you see for this Customer?

I'm going to interpret the lack of recent responses to mean that no one has seen this before. You should speak with your Adagio consultant. A data repair may be the best solution.

I was thinking of trying toolkit and changing the customer code but thinking it might just copy the error over to the new code. If that doesn't work I could try combine into. Or, if worse comes to worse, I suppose I can create a new account and just keep the old one for the history.

This is more than any volunteer on this forum is likely going to want to tackle. You need to contact your Adago dealer and get him/her to help you track this down.

I wouldn't recommend using the Toolkit as a data repair tool.
