In AR/View or Edit Customer/Transactions/Receivables/Both we use the Find Document all the time and it is a very helpful and useful tool. There's some sort of glitch where you have to click the entry box where you put in the document number twice to get it to enter the number.

Also, will you be adding this Find Document feature to AP? It would be so helpful to have it there too. I haven't installed the 8.1C upgrade yet. Maybe the Find Document feature has already been implemented??

Hi, Susan,

Which release of AR9.0A are you using? Does this occur for a specific document type only? How are you selecting the document number?

When I select IN, CN or CA, enter the document number and press TAB, the document highlights right away (assuming I've typed the correct doc. number). When I select the document number from the Finder list, I double click and the document highlights right away.

As with other Adagio functions, the first click highlights the document and the second click executes it. This is consistent with selecting the document from the Finder list when using the Find button or F5 on the customer grid also.

Also, we haven't added the Find document feature to AP at this time. We have added a lot of other good things though like filters, styles and vendor aging to name a few.

You can type the document number into the "Find" field and press Enter. Adding document lookup is planned for Payables, but requires a significant databse restructure - a task we did not wish to unndertake with this recent upgrade.

Hi,

We are using AR 9.0A (100504).

It works correctly when we select IN, CN or CA, then tab.

What we do is skip the document type altogether and just click with our mouse on the Find Document field and type the number. This won't work on one click. It will not accept any typing. But if you click the Find Document field twice with your mouse, then you can type in the number.

This is a great feature. I don't know how we ever managed without it.

It seems to be an intermittent glitch. Not sure why. If we hit F on the keyboard, it works everytime.

Hi Susan,

Using the version of AR you indicated, I edit any customer, go to the Transactions tab, and click Both to show everything. From here, I only require a single click into the document number field - without a document type, which assumes searching for invoices - and can type the invoice number and then Enter to find it. For me, a double-click was not necessary.

As you indicated, you could also use the Alt-F shortcut to go directly to the Find document field without having to click in it. Hopefully that is a useful shortcut and since it works every time

I suspect that some window other than Adagio has the focus at that moment, and it takes one click to return focus to Adagio and the second click to put the cursor into that field. In any case, that it is intermittent indicates that something else is (sometimes) getting in the way of the expected behaviour.
