I am a new user to Adagio Financial Reporter. I import my data from Simply Accounting. I want to export/import financial reports to Excel.

My "import from Excel direct" is greyed out on my menu. I am running Windows XP, Excel 2007, Adagio FX 8.1C.

When I export a report from Adagio, I seem to lose things. For example, on one export, I lost the titles for my subtotals. On another export of the same file, I got my titles, but lost the per cent of sales calculations that I inserted into the report.

Any advice would be very much appreciated!

Hi Terri,

If you want to use the 'Import from Excel Direct' function, to retrieve an existing Excel file into an Adagio Financial Statement, you first have to open the Excel file and the desired tab. Then the Import function should be available.

We haven't heard of financial statement elements being lost upon export to Excel. I presume you are using the Excel Direct button from the toolbar to create the export. Perhaps try one of the sample sheets, just to see if you can replicate the behaviour there. Maybe if the sheet you are trying to export is large, to try a smaller sheet to see if size is an issue.

I believe that Import from ExcelDirect is only available in the Pro version of FX. When you say that items are disappearing in export, are they hidden in the Excel sheet, or not sent at all? Do you get the same result if you send the sheet as values? (View | Customize | Settings).
