I'm getting the message below when I try to install Adagio Receivables on a Windows 7 pro 32bit workstation. It installed fine on a windows xp machine.

"CRWIN Workstation Setup Error!
When Adagio Receivables was installed, its
Report Tables drive was specified as [F:] and
was mapped to [F:]. However on this workstation drive [F:] does not
contain a valid Report Tables for Adagio Receivables. Please check your
workstation drive mappings and if necessary, reinstall Adagio Receivables"

I checked the drive mappings and they are correct(Drive F: is mapped to the F: drive on the server). I also tried using the server name instead of the IP address and no luck. Also, we are using version 8.1A which should work with Windows 7.

Any ideas? Thanks

Try running ChkSys from that workstation. It lists all report tables that it expects to find and those that are either missing or mis-dated. The report tables should be installed to the F:\QRASP directory, based on what you have posted.

The report tables drive is stored in the Windows registry for each workstation. It may be that the Windows 7 user does not have the appropriate rights to get at the registry, or that the workstation setup was done as a different user of the station.

You may need to re-install the Addagio Receivables program from this workstation to your [F:] server, to ensure that all the correct report tables are in the right place. It's possible that the XP station is looking at a different place, and finding the complete set of the report tables, than where the Windows 7 workstation is.

I ran the Chksys and got the 1 error:
"ERROR: No Report Tables drive for 32-bit products is defined for this User."
This computer is brand new and this is the first time adagio has been installed. Actually, it won't install because I get that "CRWIN workstation setup error" before it can do anything. The user also has administrative rights and I also have tried running the setup as administrator within that user. As a workaround I installed it under windows XP mode, but I would like to get it working in windows 7 because they just paid for the upgrade allowing it to work in Windows 7. Any other ideas? Registry changes I might need to do?

Thanks

Your first post mentioned that you are using Receivables v8.1A, this predates Windows 7. Your second post mentions that you just paid for an upgrade. The current version of Receivables is v9.0A. Are you installing the correct version of Receivables?

The current version has specific install instructions for Windows 7 including the requirement to turn off the user account control function. Have you followed these instructions?

We just paid for the upgrade to version 8.1A because the sales rep. said version 9.0 has too many issues and did not recomend it until the bugs were fixed. They did say version 8.1A was compatable with Windows 7. Which version of adagio requires you to turn off the user account control function? 8.1A or 9.0A? Or both? Sorry it was a little confusing.
Thanks

Hi,

The reason it was recommended that you remain with AR8.1A rather than upgrade to AR9.0A is that the 3rd party software you are using has not been upgraded to be compatible with AR9.0A.

Doug's advice is sound. As well, in our previous post we suggested:

"You may need to re-install the Addagio Receivables program from this workstation to your [F:] server, to ensure that all the correct report tables are in the right place. It's possible that the XP station is looking at a different place, and finding the complete set of the report tables, than where the Windows 7 workstation is."

Have you done this?

I'm trying to understand what you are saying, do you mean reinstall on the server level or just reinstall on the client workstation? I have not tried to reinstall on the server. I've tried to reinstall on the workstation, but the error stated before keeps me from doing so.

Thanks for your help

Hi,

We're suggesting you try reinstalling the actual Receivables program update from the Win7 workstation to the mapped drive on the server.

Let me just explain the setup that they have first. Not really sure if we are on the same page. They have a windows 2003 server with the full version of adagio receivables installed on it, including all tables, data, etc. We have two client workstations that run adagio. One workstation has Windows XP which works fine. The other workstation has Windows 7 pro. Adagio is installed on the F: drive on the server. The client workstations have the F: drives mapped to the F: drive on the server. From the mapped F: drive I go to the CRWIN folder and install adagio from the WKSETUP folder(I believe thats the location). Both workstations pull the data from the server. When I try tp install or reinstall from that location I get the error message. When I got the 8.1A update, I loaded it first onto the server and then updated the clients next. I don't really know what you are talking about when you say reinstall adagio program update from win 7 to the mapped drive on the server. It seems like it is going backwards since its coming from the server not the workstation. Maybe I'm backwards which is very possible. Also, I have tried to reinstall from the server to windows 7 workstation with the same error message.

Thanks again

Hi,

I am not referring to you doing another workstation install. I am suggesting that, while logged into the Win7 workstation as the Windows user that will be running Adagio, you run the AR8.1A update file you downloaded and (re)install it to the mapped drive (F:) on the server.

Note that, as Doug indicated previously, you will need to have enough Windows rights to do the install and to write to your registry. In order to see the mapped drive on the server, you will first need to turned UAC (user account control) off. If this Windows user is not already an Administrator, they will be asked to enter an Administrator's password.
