Hi,
We have a new workstation running Win 7 and want to access Adagio. Both are on our network. I tried the ALLWKST but that did not look promising. We have the latest versions of Adagio. What to do?

Thanks

Jody

Hi Jody,

If you go into the X:\Softrak folder (where X is your network drive), each module has a separate folder. Under each module's folder will be another folder called WKSETUP. Running the WKSETUP file will perform the workstation install for that module.

Often the individual workstation installs will work even though the all workstation setup fails.

OK I spoke too soon. All the modules installed except for AR and OE. On these I got the message:

"The file X\Softrak\oewin\oewin.chm could not be opened"
(in AR it's receivables.chm)

These files exist on our other local drives, but do not appear to be on the network drive (although I did find them on a backup copy.) Can I just copy it from another workstation to the local drive of the new workstation?

We have AR 9.0A and OE 8.1C, Windows server, and the new workstation is running Win 7

Thanks
Jody

Microsoft in all it's wisdom no longer allows you to run CHM help files from the network. A Windows security update prevents this.

Adagio workstation setup copies the CHM help files to the local workstation on the C drive (usually C:\softrak\oewin or C:\softrak\receivables), and puts this path in the Windows registry so that when you attempt to access the help file in Adagio, the program knows where to look for the file.

Something has prevented all of this from happening, perhaps workstation security rights. Certainly you can copy the CHM help files from another location to your local workstation in the desired locations. Eventually you will need to investigate why the workstation setup is not able to correctly copy all the required CHM files or perhaps write to the registry.
