I am going to continue this thread with my new issue related to budgets. I opened my next fiscal year and all my budget data from the current year was wiped out. I assume I should be able to have different budget data based on the fiscal year. Fortunately I still have my csv so I imported my 09-10 budget back in and then thought I would test importing a budget into the next year (10-11), so I changed some of the data and imported it (making sure I selected the correct fiscal year) but when I go to 'View' and change the year that I am viewing, it doesn't change the budget total. It is still the 09-10 budget, is this by design? I can see when I go into Edit -> Budget Data that the new budget amounts are there but it would be really helpful if I could see the Balance and the Budget Total for the year I am viewing.

Opening a new fiscal year does not delete previous year budgets.
Something else has happened - perhaps you cleared the budgets from the Edit Budgets function.

Importing budgets from CSV or Excel has a fiscal year that you set on the Defaults tab of the import template. You may have had the old fiscal year set, and you needed to change it to the new year.

The Budget Total that is displayed on the Edit Budgets grid is always for the Current year - it does not change to the Next year until such time that you close the current year. This is the way it works. The column editor for Edit Budgets is the same as for the Edit Accounts grid.
