why are some my tax types not working in OE when i try to produce a credit note crediting an entire pre HST invoice I cannot get it to work.....
I have 6 tax types in Tax Group 1 only 3 work.... we have thousands of customers so I have just changed the rates in the most used tax type to accomodate HST. This works, however as mentioned I cannot produce a correct credit memo. I have created a tax group 2 that will produce a credit note manually created.

In PO I have changed the tax rate in inventory and the name of the tax in PO but still when the item is received both GST and HST are shown but only GST is processed.....

If you have replaced all of the GST and PST calculations with HST, you do need to create a new group that has the old configuration. Then just switch the tax group on the header of the credit note.

You can get more information on changing taxes here:

I would strongly suggest getting in contact with your Adagio dealer who will be better able to assist you.

thank you..

I had changed set up a new tax group but the credit note remplate seems to override it when trying to credit a full invoice prior to HST

Not sure what setting has been put in place...

Perhaps you have an entry template for the group? Or, if you are creating the credit note from the invoice, it will inherit the tax information from the invoice.

that is what I thought it should do but it isnt...

I can change the tax group for some customers and issue a credit note without an issue but for other customers I cannot. the credit notes will not allow me to change the tax gorup in the header.

If you are logged into Adagio with a user ID other than SYS, this would be defined in the security Groups. If you cannot edit a particular field within a new document, this is the entry template. If you are editing a credit not that has already been posted, you cannot retro-actively change the tax group.

Are you using Ship-to codes on your credit note? Tax Groups are defined there and this may be over-riding the tax group from your customer.

WE are using ship to codes so I was able to figure out how to issue a credit note. However if i want to issue a credit note to cancel an entire pre HST invoice it always wants to add the HST portion. It doesnt want to recognize the new tax group which has GST/PST. Is there a way to overcome this?

Hi Katheryn,

Were you able to change the Tax Group on the credit note from the one that uses HST to the one that uses GST/PST? If not, then the credit note cannot re-adjust the tax jurisdictions. You must be able to edit the Tax Group on the document (prior to posting) for this to work.

I was only able to get it to work on credit note that was refunding a partial invoice. I could not get it to work on a credit note that was simply refunding an entire invoice...

ALSO I having trouble in PO. I have changed the rates... When I try to receive a PO both GST and PST are reflected but only the GST is posted......
