I have been keying in some Misc Charges into a Sales Order in OE ver 8.1C. I have noticed when I try to change the tax code or go back and edit the misc charge amount I'm getting an error message "Invalid Floating Point Operation". I can not edit the misc charges now. I have to deleted and re-enter. I had recently updated to this version so not sure if adjustments to profile need to be made.
Can someone advise what needs to be adjusted so this works so I can edit these charges again?
Thanks Treasure

Hi Treasure,
You should never see a message of this nature from Adagio. Either there is something wrong with the data, the upgrade to V9.1C did not install properly, or there's an internal program problem when a specific, unexpected sequence of events occurs.
First, run a Data Integrity Check and make sure there are no problem with the data (I don't think there will be).
Second, see if the problem occurs in the sample data when you follow the same sequence of steps. If it does, then there's either an install problem or a program bug.
Re-install the Upgrade and see if the problem persists. If it does, we'll want you to document the steps you are going through to generate the error to make sure we can re-create it here.

Hi Andrew
Thanks for the info. When I try to retrieve the sample date it says it needs to be converted to 8.1C. Is this correct? Is it ok to convert or should have I received the new sample data when I upgraded to this version?
oh I see I have new sample data called MCSamdata which also says needs to be converted. Not sure which one to use or convert.
I ran Data integrity and it has no errors.
thanks Treasure

Yes I see the same thing Now. I had to bill several clients yesterday for a misc change and no other items were billed on these orders hence my problem with the error msg. Now when I test it with keying in an item you're correct the error msg is now gone and I can go into misc. charges and now edit them.
I also tried again without an item and now works to edit misc charges. I'm not sure what will happen however if I completely exit and come back try again. I assume the error will be back. Since you have been able to duplicate this error hopefully it's something that can be fix at your end for future releases.
I'm not sure what you need to know by setup but we use OE and IC and pretty sure it's pretty standard set up, keying in items or selecting from misc charges drop down field. Thanks for your help Treasure

Hi again
Processing options I have enabled are: calculate Bo, Credits on invoices, Edit invoiced orders, Edit Line Extension, allow printing of on hold orders, allow order for on hold customers, always use special price. calculate tax detail line.
Printing I have: direct invoice misc charges last (I tried to turn this off made no difference still get error msg)
I get an error immediately editing a misc charge also like you've mentioned. So Yes same Timing as yourself.
I can't recall now what exactly I was doing when I thought I received the msg while using the down arrow on the tax codes but I may have been mistaken since I don't seem to get this error when doing that now. I may have been trying to get into the misc charge to edit the tax code and then got the error. When I said editing the amount I did mean editing the misc charge so I could edit the amount.
The main problem is trying to edit a misc charge itself without other items on the invoice. Thanks for looking this, Treasure
