Is there a way to accommodate using medium font on a 24" monitor without displaying a layered look in Adagio?

Try using the regular font size(smaller - 100%) while reducing your display resolution. I'm running Windows7 to a 22" monitor and Adagio looks correct.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, my client is okay with a 22" however, has a problem with the 24" monitor. I believe they prefer to increase font only rather than change resolution.

Hi Eva,

What do they have against changing the resolution? The effect is the same and Adagio works!

I encountered this at a client site today. They were setup to be using Large Fonts (120 DPI) in Windows resulting in the Edit Budget Data form in GL 9.0B having the "Target Acct. Budget" section missing.

I switched them to normal DPI and rebooted and the form was correct. But, the fonts are now too small for the user. I tried dropping the resolution down, but anything other than the native resolution of 1680x1050 results in a very "fuzzy" display.

I couldn't come up with a solution, other than switching back and forth from normal to large fonts as needed.

I did notice that some applications seemed to have their forms and buttons scale with the large font size. I wonder what would be entailed in making Adagio DPI aware?

Modifying the code that displays every form in every module. Is this really an R&D project worth undertaking?

If that's what's involved, no.

I just wondered if there was a shortcut; some universal setting that could be applied.

Yes - that would be nice. And if that was available we'd do it in a heartbeat.

As an aside, I'm running twin Samsung 26 inch displays with a native resolution of 1920x1080 driven by an ATI Radeon HD 5700 video card. When I move the resolution down to 1280x720 the text is so large I can almost read it from across the room. Yes - it's not as "crisp" as the native resolution, but much of this is controlled by the video driver and choosing an appropriate display size. You should make sure that the lower resolution has the same aspect ratio as the native resolution of the monitor, otherwise the pixels are not stretched equally and a fuzzier display results.

Edit Reason: More complete response
